吴鸣霄徐冰妍夫妇以全场最高价拍下佳士得中国封面作品

　　The collector of Sui Jianguo's 14 pieces of sculpture, Clothes Veins Study Series, which is on the front cover of Asian Contemporary Art catalogue, Christie's First Auction in Shanghai, is a couple from Shanghai, Mr. David WU MING XIAO and Ms. Selina XU BING YAN. This couple who owns several hedge fund investment firms and financial development studios has great enthusiasm for charity. Clothes Veins Study Series was their first step on the collection of the contemporary sculpture.

　　佳士得中国當代藝術首拍封面作品，14件的隋建国《衣纹研究系列》雕塑作品的藏家是来自上海地區的吴鸣霄及徐冰妍夫妇(David WU MING XIAO & Selina XU BING YAN )。这对拥有数家对冲基金投资公司及金融实验研究所，并热衷于慈善事业的年轻夫妇是第一次收藏雕塑作品。

　　Several years ago, Mr. David WU MING XIAO and Ms. Selina XU BING YAN travelled to Europe and visited Louvre where they saw Vénus de Milo and The Nike of Samothrace. They were impressed by the strong visual effect that generated by the combination of sculpture and architecture of Western Art Museums so they started hunting for the art work which did not only have the attribute of China but also have a mean to connect to western art. They thought art collecting could deliver the message of cultural continuity only when the works were valuable to the public. Meanwhile, collecting an artist's important series systematically was equivalent to the style of museum collection. It strategically benefited both exhibiting in the museum and establishing private art museum for future reference.

　　Mr Wu showed his acute insight and personal style on the financial investment when it came to art collection. He revealed an optimistic attitude and strong confidence on the art market in China while he spoke of the subtle association between art market and economics market. He also indicated that his greatest harvest from the past career was the price gap between Chinese and global market. Mr Wu believed the same theory can be employed in the art market so he skillfully chose the front cover artwork of Christie's First Auction in Mainland China catalogue and the most representatives
